About DODA.mx

DODA.mx tracks the status of Documentos de Operación para Despacho Aduanero, the document that accompanies cargo through Mexican customs. You register a DODA's integration number and we watch the public SAT portal for you: when the status changes, you hear about it. That is the whole product.

Who builds it

DODA.mx is a product of Tótem Computer, a technology company based in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, founded by Antonio Tarín. Tótem does three things:

• On demand Cloud PCs: virtual desktops that spin up when they are needed and are paid for by usage.
• IT services and infrastructure for businesses: networks, servers, backups, support and everything that keeps an operation running.
• Application development for web, mobile and desktop, which is where DODA.mx came from.

Being in Monterrey matters here. It is a city that lives off foreign trade, close enough to the border that almost any business conversation eventually turns to customs. That is where we ran into the problem DODA.mx solves.

Why it exists

The SAT portal publishes the status of every DODA, but it never tells you when that status changes. No email, no message, no subscription of any kind. The only way to find out that the light turned green, that it turned red, or that the inspection is over is to open the portal, type the integration number and refresh. Then do it again. And again.

In practice, that means someone on the operations team spends the morning refreshing a web page. A driver waits in the yard without knowing whether he can move. A customer asks over and over whether the cargo has been released. A customs broker learns about a red light an hour late because nobody happened to be looking at the screen. That lost time turns into real money in demurrage, storage and detention.

DODA.mx automates exactly that task. Instead of a person refreshing, a process does it for you and sends the notification to a channel you will actually see: email, browser push or WhatsApp.

How we get the data

This matters, because in customs work trust is everything. DODA.mx performs automated lookups on the public SAT portal, on your behalf, using only the integration numbers you register yourself. Those numbers come from your own DODA receipts, the ones you already have in hand.

We do not ask for or store your e.firma, your SAT passwords or credentials to any government system. We do not tap into private databases. We do not look up third party information and we have no way to see operations you did not register. What you see in DODA.mx is the same information you would see by typing that integration number into the portal, except the history is kept for you and you learn about changes without going looking for them.

Because the source is the SAT portal, the data inherits its timing and its outages. If the portal goes down or lags behind, we show it that way and say so. For critical operations, the official lookup always wins.

What we believe

• Be transparent about the source. We would rather tell you where a value came from and when it was fetched than project a certainty we do not have.
• Useful alerts, not noise. We notify you when something actually changes. A tool that over alerts gets muted, and a muted alert is worth nothing.
• Make it understandable. Foreign trade has enough jargon already. Our guides are written for someone who is new to it, not only for the veteran of twenty campaigns.
• Your data is yours. We do not sell it or share it with third parties for commercial purposes. The details are in our Privacy Notice.
